As of June 11, the confirmed COVID-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 209,380. Reported deaths in Africa have reached 5,689 and recoveries 95,084.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 55,421, with deaths numbering 1,210 Other most-affected countries include Egypt (38,284 cases), Nigeria (13,873), Algeria (10,484, and Ghana (10,201).

 

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well national and regional public health departments.
