A fire outbreak, on Wednesday, claimed two lives in Kano with about five cars burnt completely.
The fire outbreak which occurred at AA Rano filling station on Bompai Road, was reported to have started at about 2 pm and lasted for almost two hours before it was put out by the state’s fire service and other private companies who assisted with their firefighting equipment.
Eye witnesses said that the fire broke out when a truck carrying petroleum product was trying to off load its content at the filling station leading to the destruction of some section of the station, five vehicles and two persons unfortunately lost their lives in the inferno.
Some persons interviewed in the area described the incessant cases of fire outbreak in the state as highly alarming and that the government must as a matter of urgency investigate the causes of the outbreak and find a lasting solution to the problem.
It would be recalled that Kano has recorded series of fire outbreak in the state’s markets in recent times paralysing business activities, as goods worth trillion naira were said to have been destroyed with the Kurmi market as the most recent one.
