The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), and the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria are to collaborate to fight corruption.

Prof. Umar Dambatta, Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, said this when Provost of the academy, Prof Shola Akinriade, led his management team to visit the commission in Abuja on Wednesday.

Dambatta stressed that there was need to adopt proactive measures right from the grassroots to tackle corruption.

“We will collaborate with you. I appreciate your anti-corruption policy; there is also need to harmonise so that we have a set of rules applicable to all organisations.

“We have EFCC and ICPC. There is need for harmonisation to ensure that we have policies that are very clear that all of us must observe’’, h said.

Earlier, Akinriade said the team came to the NCC to request for collaboration in capacity building to deal with corruption.

“We also want to collaborate with you through the NCC so that we can work with the telecom sector to promote integrity.

“As the regulatory authority, you have the power to direct them as the issue of integrity is very crucial and fighting corruption is a major war’’, he said.

Akinriade said the academy was also requesting for NCC’s support in some of its activities.
