For the thousands of children across Kaduna State who have only ever seen a computer in a textbook, the world just got a lot bigger.

On Wednesday, Governor Uba Sani launched the “Class Is Open Everywhere” initiative, a bold promise to the children of the state: no matter where you live in a busy city or a quiet rural village the digital future belongs to you.

“We are excited because he said we won’t be discriminated against,” whispered a group of students at the launch. The Governor, speaking through Commissioner for Youth Development Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, made it clear that digital skills are no longer a “luxury” for the few, but a “necessity” for every child.

Instead of children having to find their way to a faraway lab, the state is sending out the DigiTruck; a fully equipped, high-tech mobile classroom designed to bring the 21st century directly to school playgrounds.

The children of Kaduna aren’t just learning to type; they are being invited to lead. The program is set to reach over 1,000 students in 30 schools across three zones, offering them a front-row seat to:

  • AI Fundamentals: Learning the “brains” behind modern machines.
  • Digital Creativity: Turning ideas into digital art and solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Moving beyond just using technology to actually building it.

By bringing practical technology to the children, the state is shifting the digital narrative from “someday” to “today.” For many of these students, the DigiTruck isn’t just a vehicle; it’s the door to a world where they are the innovators, the engineers, and the leaders of tomorrow.
