Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has added another major milestone to her career, becoming a three-time Guinness World Record holder.

Guinness World Records has confirmed that Baci’s September 2025 jollof rice achievement, which was first recognised as the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, also qualifies as the largest serving of rice globally. The additional record was awarded after Guinness reviewed its record categories and guidelines.

Baci shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, updating her bio to read, “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder,” and describing the moment as an unexpected and exciting way to enter 2026.

“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to process it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.

According to an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering at Guinness World Records, the jollof rice attempt met the criteria for two separate records at the same time.

“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing once again. After comparing the guidelines for both record titles, we confirmed that your successful attempt at the ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice’ also achieved the record for the ‘Largest serving of rice,’” Fanning said.

Baci said she only discovered the additional honour several months after the original announcement, calling the revelation both surprising and fulfilling.

The new title builds on her earlier achievements, including her May 2023 record-breaking 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, which made her Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

She praised her team for the accomplishment, giving special recognition to Oreoluwa Atinmo for her support throughout the process.

“This record was a shared vision from start to finish. From the idea to execution, we did it together,” Baci said, adding that the achievement feels like a powerful reminder that there is always more ahead.

With three Guinness World Records now to her name, Baci continues to elevate Nigerian cuisine on the global stage.
