Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Your faith can die or your faith can grow, faith comes by hearing the word of God and that is the only thing that can make/keep your faith alive. You must consistently feed on God’s word for the word of God to become faith to you. Faith operates the gifts and the fruits of the HolySpirit, for the fruit and gift of the HolySpirit to be functional in your life, it requires faith, and then backing it up with actions. Faith is a doing word. You must learn to trust God for you to be operating in the same manner as Jesus, in His gifts and fruits. You can’t operate without faith in the kingdom of God, it takes faith to work and walk with God. Salvation is received and maintained by Faith, faith brings you into eternal rest, it makes you inactive, it brings you to a posture of gratitude. Faith gives you the assurance that God is in control, a man of faith is a man of rest. There are different components of faith; there is the mouth, heart and action component.
1.) The mouth component:- The mouth component has to do with confession, you open your mouth and confess the word of faith. You can’t confess without opening your mouth, mouth is the basic component for confessing the word of faith.
2.) The heart component:- This is done by meditating on the word of God. Until you consistently meditate on God’s word, you can’t walk in faith. Faith is needed for you to constantly practice the act of meditating on God’s word all the time.
3.) The action component:- This component involves doing the word of God, doing the word of God means giving actions to the word of God. When you preach the gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, to mention but a few, you are practicing the word of God. This component simply means the doer of the word of God.
The ministry of Jesus and faith
Jesus gave us two types of faith but when it comes to manner of Faith, Jesus gave us three types.
1. Little faith; this type of faith cannot do anything because it has fear.
2. Small faith like mustard seed which can move mountain; small faith has to do with great commitment.
3. Big faith; big faith implies great faith.
