Tension has spread across the Zuru Emirate in Kebbi State after bandits launched a late-night attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga in Danko/Wasagu LGA, killing the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and abducting several students.

Residents say the attackers stormed the school in large numbers and operated unhindered, leaving the community in fear and mourning. Witnesses reported that the Vice Principal was shot while trying to protect students during the invasion.

Community members have continued offering prayers for the slain educationist, describing the attack as another painful blow to a region already dealing with repeated assaults on schools and villages.

As of the time of reporting, security agencies have not released an official statement. Residents are calling on the government to urgently rescue the abducted students and strengthen security in the area.
