The Federal Government has cancelled the Independence Day parade earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, as part of Nigeria’s 65th anniversary celebrations.

In a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the SGF, the government said the decision would not diminish the importance of the milestone, stressing that all other anniversary programmes remain intact.

The statement expressed regrets for any inconvenience caused and urged Nigerians, the diplomatic community, and guests to support President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda.

Themed “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation”, the celebrations will proceed with other scheduled activities.
