Governor Siminalayi Fubara has resumed office following the end of the six-month emergency rule imposed on Rivers State in March 2025.

In a statewide broadcast, Fubara thanked President Bola Tinubu for brokering peace during the political crisis and restoring democratic governance. He also acknowledged the role of Minister Nyesom Wike, the National Assembly, and other stakeholders in resolving the impasse.

The governor called on political leaders, lawmakers, and citizens to set aside differences and work together for peace and development. He assured Rivers people of inclusive governance and promised to complete ongoing projects to revive the economy and improve social services.

Fubara urged residents to embrace unity, saying “the costliest peace is cheaper than the cheapest war.”
