Charlie Kirk, founder of the youth movement Turning Point USA and a close ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump, was fatally shot on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University.

According to officials, the 31-year-old activist was struck by a bullet fired from a nearby rooftop about 20 minutes into his address before thousands of attendees. Despite immediate medical attention, he did not survive.

Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, confirmed that the suspected shooter has not yet been caught. Two individuals were earlier detained for questioning but later released, leaving the investigation ongoing. Authorities are now urging the public to provide credible tips as the manhunt continues.

The shocking attack has drawn bipartisan condemnation, with U.S. leaders across party lines calling for an end to political violence. President Trump described the killing as an “assassination” and ordered flags flown at half-staff in Kirk’s honor. Vigils have since been held in Utah as supporters mourn his death.
