The Federal Government has revoked the 5% excise duty on telecommunications services, including voice calls and data subscriptions.

The levy, introduced under ex-President Buhari in 2022, had faced backlash from operators and consumer groups, who warned it worsened living costs.The move is expected to bring relief to Nigeria’s over 171 million active telecom users.
