The Federal Government says it has not received any official communication on reports that Nigerians deported from the United States were sent to Ghana.

The clarification came after Ghanaian President John Mahama confirmed that 14 deportees, including some Nigerians, had arrived in Accra this week under a U.S. “third-country deportation” arrangement.

Foreign Affairs spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa said Abuja has “yet to be informed officially.” Nigeria has previously opposed such deals, warning that they place unfair burdens on African countries.
