When Jesus draws you, something intrinsic will happen and you will follow Him. No man can follow Jesus except the Father draws him. Behind every leadership of Jesus, there must be a desire. The first thing that must be corrected in every leadership is attitude, leadership is not a place to sit over people but a place to serve (Jesus corrected their attitude and misconception). Kingdom leadership is not for people to be obvious/ show off.

As a leader appointed over God’s business, be careful so that the devil will not take control of your desires in your endeavors in things concerning the kingdom. Spiritual leadership is by preparation and the choice of God ( not by desires and ambition). God sees your heart not your mouth, most times if you are not careful, you will rate your desires above the things of God. The disciples of Jesus were men that saw power and were getting power, they were retaining self. Desires will rub you on the ground if you don’t curb it, you will never get to the things of Jesus if desires and ambition set it. The disciples were men that sacrificed everything they had for the cause of Christ.

THE DESIRES OF THE DISCIPLES

1. They wanted the spotlight, the place of the  glory and the place of honour.

2. They were busy risking their lives for that place of  honour (This simply means the benefit that comes with Jesus glory)

3. They were looking for glorification and announcements when God has not announced them; when you have unholy desires/ ambitions, it won’t last but betrays (overcomes) you.

It is possible to serve God with an ulterior motive. There must not be a contention in the  things of God, God is the only one that makes people ready and fix one in a place. Ambition and desires cannot do that, desires will bring everything that is not in the will and plan of God. Leadership in the kingdom is not by effort and perfection but it is God that chooses and makes ready for His work. Leave every man with the HolySpirit because you don’t know what God will have him do. Leave the choice of God, most time you collide with the will of God and your desires becomes hinderance to the things of God. We fight God with our fleshy desires.

THE ATTITUDE OF THE DISCIPLES

1. They lack knowledge. Your dream is too weak to assume leadership position in the things of God, you don’t explain misconceptions. The things of God are not assumed, there must be a knowing. Jesus corrected their attitude by telling them they don’t know anything.

2. Misconception. Jesus told them there is a price to pay. Don’t practice without preparation. Attitude starts with knowing.

kingdom leadership is not thesame as this world’s leadership. Leadership is at its best described as servanthood. What God recognize as kingdom leadership is from a place of service.
