Every woman wants to slay makeup at any age.  The key to this is following a dedicated skin-care routine—cleansing, moisturizing, and exfoliating. This will ensure a healthy complexion, especially before applying makeup. Good skincare can make a huge age-defying difference.

Once you’ve ticked this prerequisite, here are the tips you should follow to ensure you have that classic makeup look at age 50 and beyond.

● Say yes to full brows.

Begin by recognizing the importance of naturally full brows. Rather than plucking your brow hairs, cut them. Use your Brow Pencil in colour brown or soft blacl to render featherlight hair-like strokes thin enough to draw natural brows.

Make sure the lips are symmetrical

Lips can become asymmetrical as you age. By using a lip pencil as your lip colour, you can even out the lips. Draw four separate strokes, beginning from each of the four outer corners and drawing towards the Cupid’s bow or the middle of the bottom lips, to achieve symmetry, you’ll get a more symmetrical lip this way. Apply lipstick in the same way, then soften the edges with a lip brush.

● Leave the face powder at home.

Those days of touching up with face powder could have passed you by once you’ve turned 50. The good news is that, with the exception of a little pressed powder to set under-eye concealer and remove shine, your makeup would look better without it. Powders make skin look dry, and it’s visible because it sits on fine facial hairs, which, sadly, many of us grow as we age.

● Keep your eyeshadow to a minimum

If you want to make the most of your makeup after 50, “less is best”. On the eyes, use lighter colours. Avoid trendy eyeshadow colours like bright blue, lime green, or bright pink. Instead, add some colour with mauve, peach, or violet.

● Do not forget face primer

When you’re in your 50s, you could be dealing with wider pores and fine lines, but the right primer will help you fight back. Apply a thin layer of thick primer to a moisturized skin to smoothen the surface and minimizes the appearance of large pores and fine lines. This will help your foundation to slide on smoothly. It’s one of the simplest beauty tips for older women.
