‘In her 30s’  This is the place where I share my daily ordeal with y’all on a weekly basis. I try to talk to you cos I feel y’all can relate with me or will be able to relate with me.

You are welcome! Let me formally introduce myself; My name is Miriam. I am an event planner, content editor and a jolly good fellow. I am not married but I am in my 30’s and being the only female in the family, my parents want me to get settled. ‘Money doesn’t solve companionship’ in their words.  Before y’all come for me and think that my own is too much ehn, see, I am a very reserved babe o but this our African setting makes it easy for some people to want to pry into your business and they have no guts to do so.

Hold on a minute… ‘I might use a lot of very ‘inappropriate words’ here because I am very angry and that is because the issue I am about to address is inappropriate for any human being to fall into that place.  Have you seen the news? have you seen what has been going online? Have you seen the way our girls, women are being raped and killed? Have you seen it? I know some people have people they know who have been molested, assaulted, violated why? just being a woman, for being female. Now, let’s get this straight… there is no one to blame for rape than the rapist!  The new thing now is the broad daylight violation. Some of these idiots go to people’s homes and rape the girls and kill them. I am appalled. Broad daylight violation and nothing is being done about it. I feel like 2020 is like three centuries in one. I want this awakening to get into rooted places. I want this awakening to be beyond the hashtags. We need stiffer laws that work and you know why it is taking so long for them to implement the laws, most of the lawmakers we have here are guilty. That’s a story for another day. The issue I want to speak about or permit me to say the group I want to address are the Rape Apologists. A rape apologist is one who finds excuses for rape. The one who blames the victim. The one who thinks the victim caused it.

How to know them…

They are the ones who go about asking what the woman’s wearing. What did you wear? Why did you go to the club? Why did you wear such a short shirt? You know these men cannot keep their penis under so the onus is on the woman to be cautioned. You should have worn something longer. Why did you go to his house? why didn’t you stay at home? They are the ones I am speaking to and if you have ever said such a statement on a rape issue, you are a rape apologist and we need to check your brain. Listen up! Nobody has the right over another person’s body and the moment you start giving excuses for a rapist, you are also a rapist! Yes. Whether male or female. A woman’s body is hers, whatever she chooses to wear is none of your business but it is your business to look away. It is your business to keep off. It is your business to seek consent and go by it. If she says no, leave it at No and if she says Yes, leave it at Yes. You have not right to have your way on a woman. Absolutely none!  So, those of you who go about spewing trash and blaming the victim… You need psychological evaluation and you know what baffles me, the way they trivialise it making it look like rape is normal. How dare you? The moment a man grabs a woman by force to sleep with her, he is no longer a human being he is now an animal. In fact, animals are better. Rape is not about the wears, the place, rape is about the barbaric person doing the act! that is what rape is about.

What do we say about those who take children and sleep with them? I saw a barbaric video of a man kissing a small girl, kissing a child. Who does that rubbish? who? Is that person normal at all? what is alluring about a two-year-old girl, what is seducing in the body of a 5 months old child? The moment we get laws to kill rapists, the better for us and anyone who goes about shoving the blame on the victim should be arrested. Why? that person is a potential rapist roaming about. You better check yourself and be quiet sure that you are normal. I have come to realise that there are lots of abnormal individuals in our society. In simple terms… A lot of people are Roaming Mad!
