When You Truly Start Counting Your Blessings, Your Whole World Will Turn Around!

Nothing stays the same, everything must change, what goes up must come down, night will turn to day, glass half full rather than half empty and so on. These are all clichés we hear all the time which after a while don’t really mean anything to us; but they are there for a reason. They are there to school us (as the young folk say), they are there to caution us and they are there to encourage and give us hope. They are expressions that if we really think about the words, are things that we can actually give witness to and they reflect different stages and times in our lives. As we all know and can attest to, peoples fortunes change, people’s health can be impacted suddenly and create huge changes in their lives, people can suffer personal losses at any time in their lives, people can lose their status in life at any time. In other words there are so many things in our lives that can change without warning, in the twinkle of an eye. When you are aware of this, no matter where you are in life, it should give you pause for thought and wherever you are on that continuum of life, stop and with deep gratitude, count your blessings!

What I have found over my six decades on earth, having had more than my share of personal loses, change in circumstances, health issues, is that alongside all those experiences, I have also enjoyed incredible highs in my family life, in my career, in my friendships which all continue in various formations. I also realise that if I look at the evidence with an open heart, with gratitude, it allows for a new resolve, a fresh energy, an ability to cultivate creative, ongoing positive emotions that will set me in good staid to embark on new ventures. It’s so hard these days to find hope and joy as so many people are crippled and affected with all the negativity and pain that legitimately exits for many. However for some, it has just become a way of life and has become their mantras and they open themselves up to be vessels for more of the same (law of attraction!). It goes without saying and going from your responses that at Above Whispers as our motto states, this is a place to be educated and informed, a place to exhale, a place where we can celebrate one another, and a place where we can create a new energy to send out into the universe. Part of how we do this is by feeling good about ourselves individually first (count your blessings), then collectively. Making things better!

You can’t really know where you are going until you know where you have been.

I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel (this is my absolute favourite!)

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.

 

When you know you are of worth, you don’t have to raise your voice, you don’t have to become rude, you don’t have to become vulgar; you just are. And you are like the sky is, as the air is, the same way water is wet. It doesn’t have to protest.

You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you.( such as a our First lady of Ekiti Erelu Bisi Fayemi is doing!)

You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

I was told many years ago by my grandmother who raised me: If somebody puts you on a road and you don’t feel comfortable on it and you look ahead and you don’t like the destination and you look behind and you don’t want to return to that place, step off the road. (I love this one!)

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.

Hate, it has caused a lot of problems in the world, but has not solved one yet.

Every morning when I open my curtains for that first look at the day, no matter what the day looks like—raining, foggy, overcast, and sunny—my heart swells with gratitude. I get another chance.

 

I live in the space of thankfulness — and for that; I have been rewarded a million times over. I started out giving thanks for small things, and the more thankful I became, the more my bounty increased. That’s because — for sure — what you focus on expands. When you focus on the goodness in life, you create more of it.

 

Being grateful all the time isn’t easy. But it’s when you least feel thankful that you are most in need of what gratitude can give you: perspective. Gratitude can transform any situation. It alters your vibration, moving you from negative energy to positive. It’s the quickest, easiest most powerful way to effect change in your life — this I know for sure.

PRAYERS

We ask that the power of Gods spirit will fill our hearts with hope, peace and joy, no matter what may be going on in our lives right now. May we have faith that God is working everything out in just the right way for us.

We ask God to guide our thinking and if we only tend to remember or dwell on the bad things that happen in our lives; we ask God to help us see things differently, to see the truth of your grace. Help us to appreciate and not take for granted the moments of joy you’ve blessed us with. Help us to seek out and know your love and hope.
