President Buhari At 75 – “I Am Happy With Improved Health”

President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed happiness over his improved health as he turned 75 years. Speaking when his aides presented him a birthday card at his Villa residence, the president thanked Nigerians for their fervent prayers.

The presidential aides were led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari and the Permanent Secretary of State House, Mr. Jalal Arabia, with the Chief of Defence Staff , General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, also in attendance. The president returned to the country on Thursday after participating in One Planet Summit in Paris, France.

The event, jointly organised by the United Nations, the World Bank Group and the French Government in partnership with Non-Governmental Organisations concerned about reversing the negative effects of climate change, like Bloomberg Philanthropies, held at the eco-friendly La Seine Musicale, situated on the picturesque Seguin Island in western Paris.

The participation of Nigeria’s delegation at the event reinforced the country’s commitment to realising the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The President was accompanied by governors of Adamawa, Kano and Ondo states, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Environment. Jonathan felicitates with Buhari Meanwhile, former President Goodluck Jonathan, in his birthday congratulatory message to President Buhari, has described him as a statesman who has earned a special place in history.

“I pray that the God Almighty that has kept you alive and healthy till now, will continue to protect and strengthen you as you lend your efforts towards the realisation of our collective dreams for a greater and more prosperous nation,” Jonathan said in a statement in Abuja. Others and prominent Nigerians including state governors, leadership and members of the National Assembly also felicitated with the president. …Saraki too Senate President Bukola Saraki, in a message sent through his twitter handle @BukolaSaraki, using the hashtag #PMBAt75, prayed that God grants President Buhari wisdom to continue to run the affairs of Nigeria. He said: “Happy Birthday Mr. President!

I wish you the blessings of the Almighty, and continued wisdom and grace as you celebrate another year.” Idris Baba, who wrote in response to Mr. Saraki’s birthday wish, said: “I join the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki in wishing the President a Happy Birthday as Baba is Aging with Grace. May Almighty Allah Continue to Protect Baba for us.”

…Dogara, Ekweremadu also The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, also wished the president a Happy Birthday using his twitter handle @ YakubDogara. He wrote: “On behalf of the leadership, membership of @ HouseNGR, I wish to join the good people of Nigeria and numerous wellwishers across the globe in wishing H.E. President Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari a happy birthday. “Under his leadership, Nigeria is steadily regaining its past glory, winning investors’ confidence and earning global respect and recognition.

He has remained consistent in dealing with corruption, insecurity and unemployment through various reforms and interventions. “We pray that God continues to keep President Buhari in good health and bless him with more fruitful and prosperous years of service to the people and the nation.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC), using its official handle @ APCNigeria also wished President well and called on Nigerians to wish the President a warm celebration. Also, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has congratulated President Buhari on his birthday. In a goodwill message released to newsmen yesterday, Ekweremadu described the president as an elder statesman, who had continued to pay his dues in service to the nation. He expressed gratitude to God for restoring the president’s health, and urged Nigerians not to relent in their prayers as he continues to pilot the affairs of the nation.

“I believe that power belongs to God and that every leader is called by Him at an appointed time for a purpose. “On behalf of my family and constituents, therefore, I pray God, who has called you, to continue to support you with length of days, sound health, wisdom, grace, and indeed all that it takes to etch your days and stewardship in gold in the annals of the nation. Happy birthday, Mr. President.”
