Rant Of The Day – Lagos Car Owners

By Grace Shaibu

Welcome to the rant column

If you live and work in Lagos, or go out regularly without your car then you will relate with this rant. It’s almost impossible to cross a major road in Lagos especially when there’s no pedestrian bridge. Those car owners will never stop, they are always in a hurry. They will see a lot people trying to cross the road and they will just run along like that as if they have never walked on the road in their entire life.

The most annoying ones are those ones that will just run along even when they see other cars waiting for people to cross. It’s such a very annoying sight. I wished I could grab the faces of those people and intentionally wait for when they will fall victim of their own beat. Even when there is Zebra crossing, they won’t wait at all, if you don’t run through you will be hit.

Owning a car doesn’t mean you own the road. If they see human beings they will not stop but when they see cows walking along the road or trying to cross, they will understand the use of Zebra crossing. Low mindset individuals with the opportunity to turn the wheels. Nonsense!

Yes ooooo my sis. VGC is a leaving example, I waited for more that. 30mins but those cruel drivers didn’t wait for me to cross the road. Trust me I ran into the road without thinking of the consequences, and they all stopped for me to cross.

Those commercial bus drivers in lagos are inhumane I must confess. They don’t mind hitting you and running away.

God make us all a car owner in Jesus name because the intimidation is too much here in Lagos.
