The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has declared three-day fasting and prayer for restoration of peace and harmony in Ile-Ife. Oba Ogunwusi made the declaration through his Deputy, Oba Idowu Adediwura, the Obalufe of Ife kingdom, on Sunday, in Ile-Ife.
He said that the royal father, who travelled to London on Saturday, sent the message to him to delivered for all and sundry, added that Ooni believed that “with God all things are possible”. According to him, the fasting and prayer will commence from Monday, March 13 to Wednesday, March, 15, 2017.
The monarch said that “one tree cannot make forests, assured that divided will fall and united will stand”. He appealed to Christians, Muslims and other traditionalist, indigenes and non-indigenes to stand up this time around to cooperate with him to fight the devil to flee from the land.
“Ife is a cradle of Yoruba’s, Niger Delta, Urobo, Hausa’s among other tribes that lives in Ile-Ife and diaspora, saying we are Nigerians which should not forget the origin,” Adeyeye added.
