The incident, according to local council chairman of Nakisenyi village,Eliot Ikuluba, occurred when Awori met Nanaire making love with Robinah Nabatanzi at Nakisenyi village in Bulongo Sub County Luuka District.

The two men reportedly engaged in a fist-fight only for Awori to pull a panga and chopped Suubi who bled to death, according to Mr Vincent Irama, the Luuka District Police commander.

“The suspect was found with blood stains on his clothes but refused to tells us the whereabouts of the chopped hand. We mounted a search with locals but we have failed to trace it,” Mr Irama told this newspaper.

Surprisingly, the woman does not officially belong to the two men who engaged in a fist-fight but to Mr Nooh Sagala of the neighbouring Buzaaya village.

Police has since detained Awori and Nabatanzi as investigations continue.

By press time, the family of the deceased had another puzzle to solve. “In Busoga culture, it is not allowed to bury a person with missing body parts but as a family we have agreed to perform some rituals to bury him,” Mr Fred Kadebo, a brother to the deceased said.
