My dear readers, brothers, sisters, friends, I hold different roles in my daily life as many of us at Above Whispers do and I am sure many of you reading also do. One of the roles that I hold very dear to my heart and which helps to keep me grounded, centred and guides me daily, is my role as an Ordained Minister. I like to think it is a part of me that is evident in some small way in how I conduct myself on a daily basis as well as in most of my writings; however It is my intention from time to time to bring that part of me to this space and share it with you in an overt and explicit way. As you responded very positively to it the last time I did, I hope it will be something that you also can find comfort, strength, inspiration and joy in as I do.
The past few weeks have been slightly strange for me. I experienced very odd emotions and while they were not completely unfamiliar, they were still unnerving. Whenever I go through these emotions I know I have to be particularly still, mindful and present because I am about to receive information in my spirit and this will also invariably mean lessons and growth. It’s a process, it’s real and can also be painful, but I trust it.
At Above Whispers we are here for you and because of you and value your readership. You are a generous audience in your contributions which are always appreciated and we encourage you to spread the word and invite your friends, family and colleagues to join our family of readers. Please share with me in the following stirrings, prayers, thoughts, teachings. Enjoy….

IT IS NOT DEATH MOST PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF
IT IS GETTING TO THE END OF LIFE, ONLY TO REALISE
THAT YOU NEVER TRULY LIVED!
Do you have a dream, are you willing to take a risk (knowing you may fail), but then you may not and even if you do, having life means you can try again, and again and again…?
Healing word by Scott Underwood
Healing Word
You speak the Healing Word
The Healing word sets me free
Healing Word
You speak the Healing Word
The Healing Word I receive
Standing here in your presence
In the stillness of your peace
As I am you embrace me
Just speak the word and I’ll be free
I lift my hands in sweet surrender
Your Holy presence covers me
Yours is the voice
There is no other
You speak the word that sets me free
Below is a letter to the world from the inimitable Archbishop Desmond Tutu. I read it often and would like to share with you again as I have in the past because I think we can all learn something from his grace and optimism.
‘Dear child of God I write these words because we all experience sadness, we all come at times to despair and we all lose hope that the suffering in our lives and in the world will never end. I want to share with you my faith and my understanding that this suffering can be transformed and redeemed. There is no such thing as a totally hopeless case. Our God (as you know and believe it) is an expert at dealing with chaos, with brokenness, with all the worst that we can imagine. God created order out of chaos, cosmos out of chaos, and God can do so always, can do so now in our personal lives, and in our lives as nations, globally…..Indeed God is transforming the world now through us, because GOD LOVES US!’
There are also particular healing words from Madiba(father) Nelson Mandela that resonate with me and I return to these words again from time to time, because they are always relevant, they speak to our times and our need to reach out to one another, share tenderness and empathy in the midst of all the fury, angst, meanness that we are surrounded with and by.
I f you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes on to his head
If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart
There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere,
And many of us will have to pass
Through the valley of the shadow of death again and again
Before we reach the mountain top of our desires
Our human compassion bind us the one to the other – not in pity or patronisingly,
But as human beings who have learnt
How to turn our common suffering into hope for the future
There is nothing like returning to a place
That remains unchanged to find
The ways in which you your self have altered
POEM…BECAUSE YOU HAVE LIVED
To laugh often and much
To win respect of intelligent people, and
The affection of children
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
To appreciate beauty
To find the best in others
To leave the world a bit better
Whether by a healthy child,
Or a garden patch
To know even one life has breathed easier
Because you have lived
This is to have succeeded

Dear God,
Still my tongue, Replace useless words
With silent understanding.
Let compassion be my guide
As i offer help and healing with only my presence and prayers.
I pray that I know when to speak, and when not to.
May my support be felt without uttering a single syllable
AMEN
May your past be a pleasant memory
Your future filled with delight and mystery,
Your now a glorious moment,
That fills your life with deep contentment
May your day be filled with blessing
