Somalia: Govt Demands Answers From White House On Troops Attack

Federal Government of Somalia has demanded US state department to provide answers on airstrike that killed over 20 troops on Wednesday. US airstrike allegedly targeted Somali National Army base near Southern Somali city of Galkacyo killing 20 and scores others wounded.

Statement from weekly cabinet meeting has strongly condemned the act of aggression and called upon white house to give explanation behind the unprovoked attack. Thursday meeting spear headed by Deputy Prime Minister has sent condolences to the family and friends of fallen soldiers.

The cabinet has also urged Puntland and Galmudug regional statement administrations to closely cooperate on security issues and cease the blame game on the attack. US defense department, Pentagon has dismissed the claims by Villa Somalia saying two airstrikes carried out inside Somalia was targeted on armed group Alshabaab fighters in which dozens were killed in the surgical operation.
