The Executive Director, Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, who spoke at a performance review of the organisation’s Media Relations Committee (MRC) in Benin City, Edo State, said the vulnerable were to benefit from the programme.

She noted that LAPO was kicking off the project in Edo, Lagos, Enugu and Imo states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in partnership with community-based organisations (CBOs).

She pointed out that breast cancer was fast ravaging the women folk nationwide due largely to lifestyle and nutrition.

” Our focus is the grassroots, poorest of the poor, informal sector, low-income people and we intend to point them to where they can do screening. We will refer them to other organisations where necessary,” she added.

Idowu-Osehobo stressed that the move was mainly geared at mobilising the grassroots for quality and affordable healthcare services.
