A SEVENTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD woman who brews a traditional beer in a village in Nakonde has been raped by one of her patrons and is nursing injuries at the district hospital.
Muchinga Provice police commissioner Auxensio Daka identified the woman as Elizabeth Nachamba while her alleged rapist has been identified only as Simukoko, who is on the run.
Mr Daka said Ms Nachamba was allegedly raped at her home in Ntindi Village in the early hours of yesterday.
“An old woman aged 75 of Ntindi Village has been raped by a known person who is on the run. The suspect is usually at the victim’s house drinking beer.
“The incident happened on Sunday around 01:00 hours. The victim sustained pains in the neck, both legs and private parts, she is receiving treatment at the hospital,” Mr Daka said.
