Angola: CPLP Women Network Highlights Development Policies

 The president of Network of CPLP Women Parliamentarians, Rosângela Gomes, has stressed the need for implementation of development policies of women in the community member countries.

This was during the meeting held Wednesday in Luanda with the first vice-Speaker of the Angolan Parliament, Joana Lina.

Speaking to the press at the end of the audience, the official pledged to pay attention to the most pressing problems within the Portuguese Speaking community.

Rosângela Gomes mentioned, among others, the violence against women, rape, education and defended more employment for women.

Praising the representation of women at Angolan Parliament, the MP said that she saw very positively the example of Angola.

Of the 220, more than 80 MPs are women, something that has not happened in Brazil” she said.

Rosângela Gomes said that she will continue the work in the consulate of Angolan member, Cândida Celeste.

Angola took over the chair of the organisation in 2013 and transferred to Brazil in 2016.

Rosângela Gomes, who arrived in Luanda Wednesday will meeting on Thursday the group of women parliamentarians of national assembly.

The agenda includes visit to Memorial António Agostinho Neto and Brazil Embassy in Angola.
