Campaign for Female Education (Camfed) has donated learning materials to needy Secondary School girls in Chiradzulu to promote their education.
Speaking after receiving the donation on behalf of the students, Teacher Mentor at Masalani Community Day Secondary School (CDSS), Mercy Mapemba thanked Camfed for the donation which she said was timely.
“Needy students always struggle. But we are happy that the learning materials have come when the school term has just started. This will enable them move on the same page with fellow students said,” Mapemba.
The materials included notebooks, hard covers, ballpoint pens, calculators and sets of mathematical instruments.
She advised the girls to take good care of the materials and use them for the intended purposes.
She therefore advised her fellow girls to work hard in class to get good grades to make it to the University.
“CAMFED is ready to support girls who will make it to the Public Universities; so we need to really work hard,” she advised.
In her remarks, after witnessing the donation Masalani Support Mother Group Chairlady, Loyce Katamba asked other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to consider supporting boys who equally face the same challenges.
