Women in Plateau State have been charged to take advantage of their large number and actively participate in politics.
They were also advised to aspire for elective and appointive positions in government.
The call was made by Nelson Ananze, the Acting Executive Director of Community Action for Popular Participation (CAPP) in Plateau State during a one-day forum on ‘Promoting Women in Politics and Governance’ in Jos North Local Government Area.
Ananze said the forum, part of Strengthening Citizen’s Engagement in Electoral Processes in Nigeria (SCEEP) which commenced operations in 2014, was aimed at bringing experienced women to serve as leadership and political mentors to women in their communities.
