Burutai Restates Reasons For Successes

President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his stand that until all Chibok girls abducted from their school three years back were rescued alive and handed over to their parents, the war against insurgency cannot be said to have begun.

The President spoke yesterday, through the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mansur Dan Ali, at the grand finale of the 53rd Anniversary Celebration of Nigerian Air Force (NAF), held at the flight line of the NAF base in Makurdi, Benue State.

He disclosed that his administration procured the newly acquired aircrafts to intensify the search for the girls with a view to rescuing them and reuniting them with their parents.

Welcoming the visitors, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar commended the Buhari administration for supporting NAF in realising its goals and promised to put an end to the Boko Haram insurgency, stressing, “I have made professionalism the major policy trust of my administration.”

Also, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has said the lessons he learnt from Bangladesh National Defence while on course there had been very useful in the counter insurgency operations in the Northeast.
