We can perhaps say without contention that no individual has influenced the literature space as much as William Shakespeare. Born 26th April 1564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England, Shakespeare went on to become the most celebrated Poet, Playwright and Actor in History. Little wonder that his work has been translated into virtually all the major languages and he is still referred to as England’s National poet. His work which includes collaborations consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets and 2 long narrative poems. In the league of great men and women with global accolade, he is one of the very few with a day set-aside to celebrate him globally. It is perhaps interesting to note that this year marks the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
