Air Peace has taken another bold step in its international expansion drive following the arrival of its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft.

The new Boeing 777-200 ER, registered 5N-CEG, landed at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Friday, August 22, 2025, at exactly 3:32 p.m. from Teruel, Spain. The aircraft’s arrival was marked with a traditional water-cannon salute and a warm reception led by the airline’s Chairman, Dr. Allen Onyema, alongside key executives and management staff.

Configured with 26 premium Business Class seats and 286 Economy seats, the 312-seater aircraft promises passengers a blend of luxury, space, and comfort. Business Class travellers will enjoy private seating and enhanced amenities, while Economy passengers benefit from spacious legroom and upgraded inflight service.

Describing the development as a “pivotal milestone,” Onyema noted that the aircraft would be deployed within the next two months for Air Peace’s inaugural long-haul services from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick. He also revealed plans to expand into additional European destinations, South America—particularly Sao Paulo, Brazil—and the Caribbean, strengthening the airline’s footprint beyond Africa.

Onyema further reiterated Air Peace’s commitment to offering Nigerians affordable international travel while challenging the dominance of foreign carriers with more competitive fares. He also emphasised the need for a strong hub system in Nigeria to improve both regional and global connectivity.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting local airlines through favourable policies and commended the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Senator Festus Keyamo, for strategies that continue to position Nigerian carriers to compete globally.
