The Nigeria Police Force has announced the promotion of its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP).
The elevation, approved by the Police Service Commission, recognizes Adejobi’s distinguished service, professionalism, and his contributions to improving police-community relations in Nigeria.
Appointed in an acting capacity in February 2022, Adejobi took over the FPRO role from Frank Mba. Since then, he has led several key initiatives focused on transparency, accountability, and modern communication strategies within the force.
DCP Adejobi holds a Combined Honours degree in Archaeology and Geography as well as a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Studies, both from the University of Ibadan. His public relations career spans years, including a notable tenure as the Police PRO in Ogun State from 2008 to 2016.
The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, congratulated Adejobi, describing him as a role model who embodies the values of discipline, integrity, and public service. The promotion is part of the force’s broader effort to reward merit and professionalism in law enforcement.
