Funmilayo’s journey into poultry farming began nearly three years ago, driven by the need to complement her family’s income during tough times.

One of her primary challenges has been the high cost of feeds and medications for the chicks. To address this, she budgets carefully and ensures that her operations align with her financial capabilities. Another challenge is the unreliable electricity supply, which led her to adopt a “kill-and-dress on demand” system to provide customers with fresh chicken.

Funmilayo was among the women who received TWN business grant in 2023, enabling her to rear more chicks and expand her customer base. For the first time, she supplied chickens to eateries, significantly increasing her profits and broadening her network.

Ogundare Adebola is the founder of ADE B Communications, a business that offers telecommunication services, including selling data, airtime, TV subscriptions, and generating WAEC and NECO pins.
