Time
It never stops, never waits
It can’t be bought, it can’t be hidden
It does not matter if you have a Rolex, Rolax, Cartier or Cortier watch
Time ticks on and on and on
So, another year has rolled by
Where has the time gone?
Nowhere, except forward
I once said, and I say it again
I am not one of those people who prays
That their enemies should die
I don’t acknowledge ‘enemies’
According to the dictionary
An enemy is ‘one seeking to injure’, ‘overthrow’, ‘harm’
To succeed, an ‘enemy’ needs power, opportunity and agency
I am not prepared to provide any of the three
So, I do not waste precious time
On wasting God’s time beseeching him to ‘punish my enemies’
That is time better spent on living, loving, giving, sharing, hoping
Time better spent on gratitude
Time better spent on growth
One year has rolled by
One year since my family and friends rolled out the drums for me
As I became a bonafide member of the Diamond Club
If I had wasted my time on praying for my ‘enemies’ to die
How would they have seen me glowing in my lovely Lady Danbury dress?
Time has no respect for anyone
Time is not interested in having conversations with you
Time has no time to counsel, advise or admonish
You are better off spending your time respecting yourself and others
Having meaningful conversations with yourself
Counseling, advising and admonishing yourself
Or at least find someone who has the time to do so
What you cannot afford to do
Is wait for time to catch up with you and then pass you by
There you are, still on one spot waiting for your ‘enemies’ to die
So that you can be ‘released’
to find employment, promotion, start a business, get married, have children
all the important things in life
No, do not waste precious time
On wasting God’s time beseeching him to ‘punish your enemies’
That is time better spent on living, loving, giving, sharing, hoping
Time better spent on gratitude
Time better spent on growth
Time better spent on forgiveness
Time better spent on kindness
Time better spent on prayer in the right places
Time better spent on supplications for the right things
Time better spent on moving forward
This past year
I have been grateful
I keep growing
I keep moving forward
I keep living, loving, giving, sharing and hoping
I never pray for my ‘enemies’ to die
Whoever or wherever they might be
They have to be here to see it all
Thank you, Lord, for another year
Thank you everyone from far and near for your warm wishes and prayers
As I take my time to step forward in my purple glory
