Hello Readers,

Welcome to the rant column.

I have noticed that on the internet, everyone has an opinion, everyone is a master, everyone’s a critic, everyone is a motivational speaker. I don’t know if this should be seen as a good thing or perhaps a bad thing though I think the ills are more than the positives. We talk too much in this part of the world and we read so little. We do not update our medulla oblongata at all but we go about saying unnecessary things, kicking the ass of those doing something.

This is the place where those who are idle feel the need to criticise the handiwork of those working their ass out, burning the candles and hitting the grind. I don’t understand how this works really but we have to receive some sense. It is more heartbreaking because this trend is common with the younger generation. We are supposed to be open minded, have a good sense of judgement, read well and do some  critical thinking, But No, we wouldn’t. Everyone has a smart phone and they feel they can type anything without reasoning about the other person.

The haters you have on most social media platforms are more than the enemies we pray against in churches/mosques. I saw a well written post on online, learnt so much through the read and guess what? some annoying human beings started talking rubbish about the writeup. We all can’t have the same opinion over an issue yeah, but when a comment is out of the lower density of the heart and brain you know there is an issue. There seriously is an issue with lots of us. We have become so cold to rubbish anything and unfortunately, it portrays us a Society whose walk to Real Freedom will Take a While.

  1. My sister, This is Nigeria where people without work will be checking to see if your work is authentic! God will help us a country.

  2. God knows I don’t check the comment sections of some blogs. I cannot allow some unknown individuals freak me out unncessarily. This thing is a surge. we are indeed getting colder in emotions.

  3. We are forgetting that there are lots of frustrated and mad people in lagos and they use phones too.

  4. Exactly! Think before you react to what you see, hear and read. Criticize constructively not destructively

  5. Is not even necessary you comment. Sometimes, you learn how to keep your opinions to yourselves. Okay, we know you know…lol.
