Welcome to the rant column

Common sense! Common sense is not totally common they say, but I think it is more embarrassing when you display that common sense isn’t common to you in public! It’s disgraceful. On my way to the office today, something happened on the bus I boarded.

The bus stopped for a passenger to alight and when she was about to alight, she told the man seated in front of her to get down so she won’t step on him. Common sense!  Seriously, that lady was nice. I wouldn’t have told the man to do that. The man refused to get down claiming that she can pass through without him getting off the bus mind you, this woman is a little on the big size so you can imagine how difficult that will be.

Everyone on the bus told the man get down even the bus conductor had to persuade him to get down, consoling him that the driver will wait for him to get back in. Nonsense!  The lady out of anger told him to calculate with his common sense and he sparked. He started raining insults on her and trust me, the woman gave him a better part of it.  This is a trend in Lagos and it’s very appaling. We should give common sense a good chance. It’s simple, get off the bus and let the person alight and get back in! Scream if the driver wants to take off without you. Simple!

Anyway, If I were that woman,I will make sure I trample not match o, trample on his legs while I get off the bus. That would have gone a long way to teach him how to use his common sense! What do you guys think?

  1. Oh my God! I really laughed out. It will be nice to see the writer’s expression though on the bus. I can imagine her shaking her legs and head the same time thinking, I wish I were the one sha. You go hear am. Loooool. But sincerely, It is very annoying that people just decided to let go of common sense.

  2. Oh, this happened to me today o. I was so angry ehn and I did what the writer said. I matched the man ni. But why are men always doing this.?

  3. Sometimes you just wonder why Lagos people are always do angry. This is really a common scene in Lagos. I guess people are just looking for ways to lash out their frustration on others
