The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said the Senate is working on the Agricultural Credit Scheme and the Development Bank bill to help provide funds for entrepreneurs.

The Senate president stated this when members of the Women in Management Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) and the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) paid him a courtesy call yesterday.

The Senate president also canvassed for patronage of locally made goods. “We all need to start patronising made in Nigeria products as this will help our economy grow,” he said.

Saraki said a lot needs to be done before the Gender and Equal Opportunities bill is finally passed, adding that they all need to find a common ground before moving forward.

The Chairpersons of WIMBIZ, Aishah Ahmad and her ANWBM counterpart, Nkiru Okpala, separately commended the Senate president on the efforts being made to pass the Gender Equality bill and the measures taken to see women entrepreneurs get the required encouragement to start and keep their various businesses running.
