Another one is Yampe Limited, offering a newly constructed building on Plot 9 Port Avenue, near Christ the King Church. The third is Rumee Limited, offering a building on Plot 19 Lumumba Avenue.

Impeccable sources familiar with the procurement process confirmed that the process is ongoing.

Unlike the other procurements that go through pre-qualification, the search for office space went straight to evaluation stage.

“The report is not yet done but once it is done, it will be sent to the contracts committee which will award the contract,” said a source. Parliament is looking for between 25,000 and 30,000 square metres of space.

The government valuer, the source said, put the monthly value at Shs165 million which makes it Shs1.98 billion.

Bauman House, where Parliament used to have offices, used to charge Shs2.5 billion per year.

Ever since vacating Bauman House which used to house 150 legislators, Parliament has struggled for space to the extent that three legislators have been forced to share one office.
