She said the aim was to reduce the female illiteracy percentage in the country.

Adayilo said these during a courtesy visit with the organisers of the beauty pageant to the Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr Abdullahi Galadima.
She said there was need for government to invest more in the girl-child education for nation building and to reduce street begging in some parts of the country, adding that the Nigerian girl phenomenon is one that was given less attention, especially on issues of their welfare and role in nation building.
“Girls in Nigeria are often seen moving around in towns and villages and hawking items of paltry value that hardly justify the hours spent in the burning sun.
Sometimes girls become vulnerable to harassment from men and other dangerous vices on the streets,” she said.
She therefore called on parents, most especially mothers,  to stop seeing their daughters as tools for generating income due to poverty and illiteracy instead of sending them to school.
Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr Abdullahi Galadima, said gender equity in education has been one of the main goals targeted by the country and urged the group to work hard in the actualisation of the goals.
