Every believer’s journey starts from the place of deliverance. All men were born into sin, in sin did our mothers conceive us. We were born into sin, every man who is a slave to sin must be first delivered from sin before he can start fraternizing with the kingdom. The translation from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear son is conversion. Every man that wants to journey in the kingdom must be translated and that translation is by covenant. The kingdom of God is strange as such it has its own law. Every kingdom journey is an heavenly journey. Every man that will do the will of God must have accepted the kingdom of God, because you can’t do the will of God outside of His kingdom. When the kingdom of God comes to you, the first thing it gets is your attention. God will always commit Himself to a man of the kingdom through His covenant, because covenant is one of the major things that makes God commits Himself to a man. When you see a man and you see the presence of God, check that man. He has entered into a covenant with God. There’s nothing God can do for a man outside His covenant because covenant binds man with God.

Your journey with God starts with covenant. Covenant started with Abraham, and that is covenant of circumcision. In the covenant of Abraham, every man was shedding His blood. But in the covenant of the New Testament, it is Christ shedding His blood. The life of the king of the kingdom is by covenant. So you start your journey from the place of the life of Jesus. At inception of the journey, they don’t allow you to start with your life, you enter as a dead man. At the entrance of the kingdom, there is an exchange. The king will demand for your life and you have to give Him your life because you have no life again. When you meet Jesus, leaving sin is not a gradual process but a sudden one. The first thing you experience and encounter when you come to Jesus is the covenant, where there is an exchange. Your life is being exchanged for the life of the blood of Jesus. The singular result of this covenant is “Rest”.

Rest starts when you enter into a covenant with God. What we call church today should be ideally the gathering of saints covenanted to God. Inside of the church are no sinners, outside of the church are not saints. Once you encounter God’s covenant, you operate from the place of rest. There is no man that truly encounters the rest of God and go back to sin. You can’t operate the kingdom from the place of yourself, in the place of rest, everything is finished. It is all about God and nothing else. A man of rest does not exert power.

Characteristics of men that have been covenanted and found rest.

1. They are men of altars

2. They don’t struggle with obedience, they obey God to the utmost. They live their life in total obedience.

3. They are men who have be broken by God.
