All strife stems from striving with the maker, it actually takes two persons to strife, strife itself is a distraction. Strife can make one contentious, to work and walk with God effective, one must deal with strife. Every believer should treat strife like an anathema. How we deal with strife will show in our heart and the way we deal with people in life. There is a seed of strife and there is a flame of strife, and when stirred up can cause destruction. When you wrath, strife will be stirred up. Strife can manifest through words and attitude. Wherever there is strife, it replaces celebration.
CAUSES OF STRIFE
Anger:- Anger can stir up pride Pro 15:18. When you are angry or anytime anyone moves you to anger, excuse yourself or calm down. By so doing, anger will not be stirred up in you. Walking away from what makes you angry helps you manage anger effectively.
PRIDE:- When there is pride in your heart, you will definitely be full of strife, because pride causes strife. Pro 28:25.
ENVY:- Envy can stir up strife also. If envy is not well managed or handled, it can lead to destruction. Eph 1:15, Phi 2:1-3.
MURMURING: Murmuring brings about discontentment, and when you are discontented, you are already gravitating towards strife. Deut 1:27.
Scorn, hatred, frowardness and gossiping can stir up strife. All these are works of the flesh.
UNFORGIVENESS:- Those who cannot forgive are prone to anger and strife. If you see people that are not letting go, they are always ventful. They want others to also experience what they have experienced also. They just want pay back by all means. Unforgiveness can lead to strife and destruction respectively.
