Making resolutions at the start of a new year is always a good idea. The new year is a time for new beginnings, progress, and change. Give yourself the gift of a new fashion mindset and a new wardrobe in 2022, whether it’s cleaning out your closet to make way for new pieces, fully modifying your style, or attempting to buy eco-friendly.

It’s difficult to make changes on your own, especially when it comes to your appearance. Some people find it simple to make changes to their clothing, while others keep items for decades. It’s understandable because some individuals are resistant to change, but I tell you that you are deserving of a makeover.

Here are a few fashion-related new year’s resolutions to help you get started.

1. Invest in the highest quality items you can afford.

Consider the outfits you wear the most, the ones that are continuously in rotation. Are they well-made and durable? If the answer is no, it’s time to make a conscious effort to spend a bit more on the outfits you wear on a daily basis in order to preserve their lifetime. This includes items such as a coat, a favourite pair of jeans, and a little black dress (LBD). These are the foundations of a functional wardrobe, and after you’ve discovered pieces that work and that you like, you’ll want to make sure they’ll last.

2. Declutter and Give out.

It’s time to say goodbye to those impulse purchases that are taking up space in your closet and hello to more room. Examine whether any of your old stuff can be sold to secondhand resellers to make the dreaded closet clean-out a little less painful. Send in a bag of your still-in-good-working-order garments, and an internet selling firm will compensate you. You’ll be less stressed and have more money to spend!

You can also donate/Give out clothing to a thrift store, a homeless shelter, or another charity organisation to stay close to home. Begin the new year by doing some good deeds and cleaning thoroughly.

3. Embrace the idea of pre-planning your clothing.

If you’re the sort that gets stuck deciding what to wear every morning or a few minutes before every outing, this is a crucial resolution to make. Yes, it takes a little more time and work, but planning your clothes ahead of time will help you avoid hurriedly throwing everything you own on the floor every morning. Invest in a rack where you can hang the week’s outfits, ironed and ready to go, if you really want to be super organised. Looking good without having to worry about what to wear beforehand will brighten that smile even more.

4. play around with different colours and print

It’s time to liven up your look. Experiment with colours and prints in the coming year to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Examine collections for ideas on the patterns and colours that will be popular in the coming year. Colors and designs can be overwhelming, but the trick is to look for options that suit your safety basics. Have fun with your items and experiment with different colours and prints to determine which ones suit you the best!
