Most times when a woman speaks of building a career, the repetitive statements that come after is “It will affect your home”.

These statements and many more have stopped many women from chasing their dreams. They have had to accept the part they could get and leave the rest. While this may seem like a heroic and sacrificial thing to do, no one speaks of the regret that these women have to live with. The depression comes with feeling like they left their purpose behind to go after society’s demand.

Why should a woman’s career be limited by society’s expectations? When she is working too hard, “she will not have time for her home”. When she is acquiring possessions, “she is raising her standards too high for men”.

There was the story of a lady walking into an interview and was told that her impressive resume was because she definitely had a man covering her expenses.

The hurt that followed was because she knew how she had constantly worked hard in using her passion to fuel her career and how every cent she spent on her expenses cost her so much sacrifice.

So, why shouldn’t a woman build a fulfilling career, why should a woman’s success automatically mean that she had not covered most of her expenses herself.

Here’s my conclusion;

A WOMAN CAN BUILD A CAREER AND BUILD A HOME AND BE GOOD AT BOTH!

SHE IS A WOMAN, IT IS HER SUPERPOWER
