God was so sure Abraham would train his children in the way of the Lord. In leadership, an example is the best way to lead. Paul reiterated the same thing to Timothy in Tim 4:1-13 about example. Command and teach these things. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but see an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come to devote yourself to the public reading of scriptures, to preaching and to teaching.
We raise people according to God’s word and His plans for them, we help them fulfil God’s plans, not our own agenda. God’s plan is clear. It is the salvation of souls and the perfecting of saints for the work of ministry (Eph 4:11-13). Your personal ambition should be guided by God’s word. You should not have a fleshy agenda that takes you away from God’s plan.
One place where you will find God’s agenda easily is in the local church. It is the place where you will receive the training of God for the plan that He has for your life. These trainings are as basic as the teachings of God’s word and the training of the spirit.
The agenda of God remains training so that you can preach the gospel and also flow in the gifts of the Spirit through your local church.
Be sure this agenda is your agenda too.
