For our non-African readers, in this part of the world when a woman gets married, they start expecting to see her pregnant, they begin to question her fertility if they haven’t seen anything after two years, or three years, then the gist would start flying maybe she is barren, maybe she has done this and that. The woman is always at the receiving end of this.  Why am I saying this? There is viral video of an interview with a leading actress in Nigeria, Nse Ikpe Etim and she talked about how she had a hysterectomy. She was told advised by doctors to let her womb off.

It was a tough  battle for her but she had to live. She had spent countless nights in the hospital battling for life but when they saw that her case was becoming life threatening she had a hysterectomy. Ladies and gentlemen, she dealt with the fact that some people just open their  mouths and say rubbish on social media. People just go about asking irrelevant questions, why haven’t you given birth? don’t you want a child? A lot of people just open their mouth and spill rubbish. I am happy that this video is an awakening that people have their struggles, so let them be. They have what they are going through. Leave everyone to be their own definition of their strengths and stop spreading hate out there. You see, these celebrities read those comments, they are human too and with all the crazies we’ve got in this world? a kind word would do.
