Many times we are faced with the problem of not knowing what our accurate shoe sizes are. For many of us, we realise it varies depending on the kind of shoe and also where it is manufactured. Here is a breakdown of how to find your correct shoe size with a measuring tape;
1. Use a ruler or tape measurer to measure your foot from the heel to the tip of your longest toe. Be sure to flatten your foot by shifting your weight forward for this ensures an accurate reading.
2. Find the closest measurement, in inches, that is equal to or greater than the length of your foot. For example, a girl whose foot measures 11-1/4 inches is a U.S. 12, a U.K. 12, or a European 47.
3. If your measurement is between two sizes, pick move the larger size.
4. Measure both feet. Your size is the size of the larger feet.
5. Take this measurement at a similar time as when you will be wearing the footwear. For daily footwear, fit yourself when you’ve been on your feet all day because your feet have expanded.
Now that we know how to get our feet measured right for an accurate result, here is a table showing shoes sizes and their equivalents side by side;
