Hello reader! It’s good to have you stop by this section today. I salute you, and do hope your day is going well/went well (depending on the time you’re reading this).
In this read and the next, we will be talking about timeless, important pieces you need to have, and how to combine them, in order to look MORE with LESS. I trust this will help.
Do you have that one friend that seems to have a scanty wardrobe, but ALWAYS looks like has more? I sure do! I can count the number of clothes my friend, Udoka, has – from skirts, to shirts, to pants, to shoes, etc.
But still, Udoka will always look like she has a boutique in her wardrobe. One day, I decided to go home with her after a movie and opened her wardrobe. I carefully observed what she had..and SNAP! I discovered her secrets, which I collapsed into three to share with you. You might want to get a pen and pad for this.
1. Have More Plain Designs And Less Print
Think about it for a minute. Plain designs are not selective of prints. They blend well with prints and patterns, and even plains too. You will be less concerned about not looking like a circus ball.
2. Have More Neutral Colours And Less Attention-Seeking Colours
Colours like white, black, red, brown, nude serve as a base for other colours. They blend well with other colours. Let’s begin to imagine colour combinations- a white top will blend well with purple skirts, teal trousers, print, pattern, blue, orange, you name it! The list goes on. But colours like blue, orange, yellow, etc, are quite selective, and more difficult to blend (except you want to
colour block).
3. Have More Timeless Pieces And Less Trending Ones
Timeless pieces are those that NEVER go out of fashion. In this category are: the little black dress, the little white dress, a pair of blazers, plain white t-shirt, a pair of black trousers, jeans, camisole, scarf, jumpsuit, a black skirt, a black handbag, a pair of pumps, a pair of court shoes, a pair of sandals, a pair of sneakers. These items will NEVER go out of fashion. If you keep following
the trend, you just might break the bank.
Don’t these make perfect sense? Begin to imagine how you can combine these must haves, and come with me to the next article, where I bring your imaginations to life!
Do drop your questions, suggestions and/or comments in the comment section below. I’d love to hear from you.

Wow. I like this. I don’t wear lots but I combine lots. The issue with me is, When I check my wardrobe I just concentrate on a particular sets of clothes.
I like this but I have discovered that Fashion right now has individual flow. For example, I have more of prints and everytime I wear it makes good sense but when I wear plain I look so dull. So, I think it differs from person to person
The pics of the this lady on white and skirt is everything to me. This is real panache. I don’t like blazers though because it makes me sweaty but I love the read.
I love this, My problem has always been how to combine…
Black knee boots won’t work in Nigeria o. It will present as being too dramatic, my thoughts though…
I love this. Secret of the big girls… Lol.
Wow! Good information for the ladies. You can look simple and elegant
