Hello ladies (and gentlemen. Yes! We recognise the men who read these articles)! Thank you for stopping by Abovewhispers Panache today. We are excited that you are excited about learning something new over here. We’ll delve into a little bit of makeup today, and we are certain that the tips presented to you today will be useful in your makeup application. Enjoy!
We carried out a little research to find out what type of facial makeup women love the most and we discovered that 6 out of 10 women prefer or are more particular about their lips than any other facial feature. In the words of one of the ladies “I can go without powder. But my lips must pop.” I belong in
this category as well. For this reason, we will look at ways to care for your lips, as well as lip colours to match your skin tone.
The lips are fleshy, and most times, soft. What a number of people do not know is that the lips are delicate, and if not well taken care of could suffer bleeding, chapping, splitting, etc. Here are a few things you can do to keep your lips soft and supple:
1. Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water to prevent dryness on the lips
2. Avoid touching your lips. This may seem a bit odd, but touching the lips with your fingers can cause bacterial infection, especially when hands have not been washed and moisturized.
3. Maintain a healthy diet.
4. Avoid licking your lips. Consciously or unconsciously, quite a number of us lick our lips, for whatever reason. But do you know that when saliva dries on your lips it causes the lips to become extremely dry? This would lead to chapped, split lips in the long run.
5. Use a good moisturizing lip cream overnight to help keep your lips hydrated.
6. Use lip scrub. Lip scrub helps remove dead skin. You can make a simple D-I-Y lip scrub by mixing
7. Use lipstick. Yes. The lipstick helps protect the lips, since it has no protection.
Do these, and you’re on your way to soft, supple, healthy lips.
There are various kinds of lipsticks – liquid, cream matte, matte, satin, etc; and the colours are endless. We walk into a makeup store and we get confused about the colour to choose. Some women like the subtle colours like nude, brown, baby pink, etc. But some others opt for bold colours like red, blue, purple, wine, etc. However, are these choices based on preference or skin tone suitability?
Your lipstick reflects your mood/personality. See this is image:
In recent times, makeup artistes have shown that any colour can go on any skin tone, with a little bit of blending and lipstick application technique such as the ombre lips. To make your lipstick work for you, use lipstick shades that complement your entire outlook. Another thing you can do is, use a lip scrub and then a lip moisturizer/balm on your lips before applying the lipstick, especially liquid ones.
Take our advice and use these tips. Your lips will thank you and your lipstick will work for you.
We’d love to have your feedback. Please drop your comments/ questions in the comment section below, and we’d respond swiftly.
Have an exciting week.
