The Wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has launched the scholarship scheme awarded to 300 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) college children.
A statement by Mr Ben Onwudinjo, Proprietor, The Praxis Catholic e-School, on Friday in Abuja, said that the award was given to the children by the school.
Aisha Buhari, who was represented by Mrs Paulen Tallen, former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, promised to partner with the school to ensure that infrastructure, feeding and logistics were guarantee.
Onwudinjo showed appreciation by thanking the first lady and called on well meaning Nigerians to also support for a successful scholarship scheme.
“We thank Her Excellency for supporting the needy and displaced children in the society.
“We urge other philanthropists and good spirited Nigerians to emulate the first lady and support the education of the displaced children provided by the school,’’ he said.
He informed that the beneficiaries would resume to their hostel at 126 Citec Villa, Gwarinpa, Abuja, on Jan. 9, 2017.
Representatives of the Governor of Osun State, Wife of Kwara State Governor, Director General of NEMA, FEMA and other dignitaries were in attendance.
Six hundred education hungry IDPs children selected from fourteen camps in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa State were also present.
