Founder of the Grace Machel Trust , Mrs Graça Machel, has called on women in Africa to be united if they are to change the economic filed which is male dominated.
Mrs Machel says there is need for women on the continent to take the centre stage and change the existing structures.
She has said that Africa needs another form of liberation which involves taking charge of her vast resources.
She has lamented that Africa currently does not consume what it produces and does not produce what is consumes.
Mrs Machel has noted that women have the potential to liberate African by putting together their expertise, intelligence , capacity and leadership skills.
She has emphasised that this will help change the existing structures which are male dominated.
Mrs Machel was speaking during an address to members of the Trusts’ Women’s Rights networks at the annual meeting in Sandton , Johannesburg South Africa .
The networks are the African women in Agribusinesses, the network of African business women , New Faces , New voices and the Women in Media Network plus the Graça Machel Trust scholars.
At least 50 women from 20 pan African countries are participating in the conference dubbed “Women’s economic development , building cohesion for inclusive growth”.
