As part of its objectives and efforts at redistributing wealth to help the needy, the Al-Habibiyyah Zakat Foundation of the Al-Habibiyah Islamic Society of Nigeria has spent over N30 million as cash disbursements and other valuables to indigents in Abuja and environs.
The Chairman of the Building Committee and Food Bank of the society, Alhaji Farouk Suleiman, said this yesterday in Abuja at the foundation’s 9th Zakat disbursement.
He also charged the wealthy to match words with action and help the needy.
Seventy-nine beneficiaries were given cash and other items to the tune of N5.5m. Director and Imam of the society, Sheik Fuad Adeyemi, told Daily Trust that the fund being disbursed was given in trust to the foundation by people and beneficiaries need not lobby to benefit.
